“The Forever Story” is the highly anticipated third studio album by American rapper JID. Through Dreamville and Interscope Records, the album was released on August 26, 2022. Guest appearances from the album are Kenny Mason, 21 Savage, lil Durk, Baby Tate, EarthGang, Ari Lennox, Yasiin Bey, Johntá Austin, Lil Wayne, Ravyn Lenae, and Eryn Allen Kane.
JID announced on November 2, 2022 that the extended version of the album will be released the following day to streaming services including the album outro “2007.” “The Forever Story” marks JID’s first solo output in almost four years, since “DiCaprio 2” was released in 2018.
The Forever Story is a sequel to “The Never Story,” JID’s debut album, which was released in 2017. The title is a direct reference to the 2017 album’s title, and the artwork alludes to the 2017 album’s artwork. The artwork shows the rapper “standing in the middle of a crowd containing people from all walks of life”, capturing “the different realities Black people face in America.
