This young artist has given us a recital of distorted kick drums with a three-track EP that has been released by the Cryogenic label.
Bowdy van der Linden, the guy who produces under the alias LunaKorpz, has had a pretty good year. In fact, we believe that it has been the most important year in his music career. Well, not that we believe it, you just have to look at their numbers. He has reached #1 on Hard Tunes on occasion, so from here we congratulate him on his excellent work over the last almost eleven months.
Their previous EP, “Pop That Pussy”, was released in March of this year also on Offensive Rage, and it was a blast. It is made up of three tracks, of which we undoubtedly highlight “Pop That Pussy”, the song that gives the EP its title.
In addition, we have seen him play very good sets. Here are two of the ones we liked the most.
On November 15th, “With Us” came to Offensive, a new EP that you are sure to love. We warn that it is not suitable for the heart… Having said that, let’s go!
We started this compilation madness with “With Us”. As soon as we start, we already realize that the theme of this theme is related to the old west. The typical whistle of this style of music (which we had already heard in pieces like “Wanderer”, by Broken Minds and D-Frek) immerses us in a very moving western. As a presentation it is great, since it tells us both the theme and the intention of the EP, which is to go crazy with extremely fast and distorted kicks. We really liked the way LunaKorpz went from offering a dirty hardcore uptempo to getting into a Clean Eastwood movie; the changes and stops are very well done.
We continue with “WICKED”, the track that we liked the most on the EP. This song perfectly describes what LunaKorpz’s style is like. Hard uptempo, made by a tube and continuous stops that contribute a brutal personality. Of the three, it is the song that most resembles “Pop That Pussy”, so you will understand why it was so successful. Bowdy’s production quality is increasing exponentially, it’s a fact. Has the removal of his mask influenced?
To finish we find “Hit Tha Ground”, a collab with Soulblast, his label partner. We have heard these vowels repeatedly, such as in “Hit The Ground” from Warface and D-Sturb. The good thing is that they stick with anything, so they will probably continue to be used and we will not get tired of them.
In the first drop, some classic bass drums act as a fake drop to lead to some “lekker kicks”, as a Dutchman would say. On the other hand, some Latin melodies take over the tracksurprisingly until they are interrupted by a fantastic melody that stars in an essential function. What madness!
We know that LunaKorpz has a new single in the chamber alongside Soulblast This one is titled “Turn Me On”, and we recommend that you stay tuned for its release because we have a hunch that it is going to be a piece of bomb. Listen to With Us below.
