The Marvel’s Updates: Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) has replaced her ‘Vers’ dog tag with a new medal with The Marvels’ emblem. Larson shared the image for the Captain Marvel sequel on Twitter, along with the film’s release date of February 2023.

While the new emblem is reminiscent of Danvers’ original symbol, it also features Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), both of whom are confirmed to appear in the sequel.

With the release of Disney+, both Rambeau and Khan will have made their debuts. The former is included in this year’s WandaVision. Ms. Marvel will have her own movie on Disney+ next year, with a small teaser showcasing Vellani in the role last month on Disney+ Day. She-Hulk and Moon Knight will also have their own streaming series in 2022, starring Tatiana Maslany and Oscar Isaac, respectively.

There isn’t much information about The Marvels’ plot right now. First photography is presently in progress, with director Nia DaCosta (Candyman, Little Woods) at the helm.

The three Marvels will have to band together to face a threat, if the new logo is any hint, with the shape of each figure from the title art on display in Larson’s medal. The threat will most likely come from Zawe Ashton’s (Velvet Buzzsaw, Dreams of a Life) character, who has been established to be a villain.

The Marvels will be released following Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November 2022, bringing Marvel’s Phase Four to a close. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder, both set for release in 2022, will continue the adventures of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

In 2023, The Marvels will be followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. These plans represent a little easing of the studio’s release strategy, with the original plan to release four films per year reduced to three.

On February 17, 2023, The Marvels will be released in theatres. The logo is out now.
