Also, it was on December 10 Mandy Moore who is playing the role of Rebecca Pearson shared pictures on her Instagram page.
This post revealed that the actress is directing episode nine of the final season. Moore wrote as her Instagram caption, “I am eternally grateful to Dan Fogelman for changing my life in every way with #thisisus and in our final season, giving me the chance to helm a truly extraordinary episode of television written by the brilliant David Windsor, Casey Johnson, and @chrissymetz”.

Chrissy Metz has also revealed that episode nine is going to be a big one for both Kate and Toby. Later when a few days had passed Metz gave the audience some spoiler regarding episode 9 that she co-wrote. She told the audience that this episode would come as a turning point for Kate’s relationship with Toby.
She further said, “[In] the early episodes of the season, she’s getting to know [Phillip] and seeing things that she didn’t remotely understand. You can see them getting along, but there’s definitely no romance — yet.
The episode that I got to co-write, which is [episode] 9, which is Kate’s episode — that’s going to be a massive turning point for Kate and Toby.” Interestingly, the official Twitter handle of This is Us has also released a video pointing out that the finale would reveal a twist. The viewers and fans must note down that the final season that is season six of “this is us” would be streamed on 4 January 2022.
